"Let Us Green Your Department" Package

If you want to look beyond a single event to learn and implement green strategies across all the events you plan, this package takes a strategic and organizational approach to greening events, also adding more formal education elements. It's the way to go for long-term self-sufficiency in planning green events.

This package includes:

  • An inventory of your current events, gathering demographic information and assessing current processes and practices.
  • Training for your meetings and events department - a one-day seminar for up to 12 senior planners, plus a four-hour seminar for your entire department staff. The training includes a free copy of "Simple Steps to Green Meetings and Events". This book is filled cover-to-cover with best practices, tips and resources for making your events environmentally friendly.
  • A half-day strategic planning session that will identify the core values of green events as well as areas of any event with potential for greening. We'll use this session to establish department benchmarks, and we'll quantify cost- and resource-saving measures whenever possible.
  • An introduction to the MeetGreen® Toolbox. We'll familiarize you with all the tools it contains, starting the process of greening your planning and the forms you use. We'll negotiate green contract language with all your ongoing suppliers, including addenda for existing contracts. We'll also communicate and reinforce your expectations for on-site compliance with all suppliers.
  • Training on verifying and assessing greening efforts. We'll assign a Meeting Strategies Worldwide green expert to train and mentor your planners on how to verify that green practices are being implemented on-site, and how to assess the effectiveness and impact of those practices. Your expert will attend an event of your choice, as well as pre-event meetings with suppliers, to provide initial leadership in these skills.
  • Ongoing access to the MeetGreen® Calculator, with training on how to use it and how to prepare reports based on its results.
